Protect Home Healthcare Workers!

Unions are working hard to skim money away from Michigan's home health care workers, mostly people who get small reimbursements for caring for their elderly or disabled family members.
Michiganders who sacrifice their own lives and careers work hard to care for loved ones, but Senate Bills 790 and 791 would skim money right out of their paychecks by forcing them to join a union just to care for their own family.
From 2004 to 2013, Care Council legislation created a fictional employment relationship between home health providers and the state. This allowed the Service Employees International Union to take more than $31 million straight from checks they receive from federal stipends.
Mackinac Center exposed the practice, convinced the legislature to defund the Care Council, and a ballot measure in 2012 resulted in voters overwhelmingly rejecting this practice for good.
But the SEIU is at it again. These bills would restart the union dues skim, taking much-needed money from the hands of families across Michigan and putting it in union bank accounts.
Tell the legislature to protect home health care workers and vote no on SB 790 and 791.
